Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s Grand National Tour is about to kick off this weekend.
The co-headlining tour was announced last December to further promote Lamar’s Grammy-winning album, GNX.
The all-stadium tour consists of 39 performances across North America and Europe, with the first show being held in Minneapolis on April 19 and the last in Stockholm on June 18.
Industry analysts expect the tour to be a great success, with sold-out venues and an electrifying atmosphere, which would solidify Lamar’s status as the number one rapper in the world.
However, just days before the tour begins, it appears that tickets for many of the scheduled shows are (surprisingly) still available.
DJ Akademiks posted alleged banners by the tour’s sponsors that are offering heavy discounts on the floor seats, along with free raffles for the attendees.
The podcaster, who is an ally of Lamar’s rival Drake, posted the sarcastic post on Wednesday to further assert the “Drake vs everyone else” narrative.
Akademiks’ claims of Lamar finding it difficult to sell tickets are seemingly confirmed by Rolling Stone.
The magazine posted an article on April 15, titled Where to Buy Kendrick Lamar & SZA Tour Tickets Online.
The article states that the website of the official seller Ticketmaster still has “limited availability” for the passes.
However, the main purpose of the article was to highlight the reselling platforms where fans can find the best ticket deals for the upcoming tour.
Lamar and SZA are fresh off the success of the music video of their song Luther, which was directed by Drake’s ex-collaborator Karena Evans.
Rolling Stone reports that the cheapest tickets for Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s Grand National Tour are around $107, with some vendors also offering the passes at about $150.
