American rapper Lil Nas X, who is known for diverse collaborations, has finally spoken up about what exactly went wrong when he joined hands with popstar Taylor Swift.
Nas, who made appearance on the red carpet of the 2025 GLAAD Media Awards, revealed the two artists were “working on something,” which he didn’t even “want to talk about,” as dished by E! News.
The 25-year-old rapper, officially known as Montero Lamar Hill, was “offered” a verse by the Blank Space singer, but the project ended after the INDUSTRY BABY hitmaker “couldn’t catch a vibe.”
The Old Town Road song maker admitted that he is “proud of ” the Grammy winner as he loves Taylor's album, who is “at the very tippety top.”
Despite missing the opportunity, the two-time Grammy winner expressed his gratitude to the Shake it Off songwriter: “I’m thankful that she even considered me.”
Although the partnership ended in vain, the Call Me By Your Name singer is looking forward to work with the Love Story artist and believes that “when it happens… Global. World. Tay-Tay and Nassy.”
Nas, who is about to launch his second album Dreamboy, confessed that he is in his “own zone right now,” keeping his focus centred on himself only but is “super open to working with all the girls.”
Lil Nas X rose to fame after he released Old Town Road. The rapper was named Best Music Video for the original and Best Pop Duo for the version featuring Billy Ray Cyrus at the Grammys in 2020.
