Duchess Sophie receives special honour from King Charles after key visit

Royal family gave a special nod to Duchess Sophie following her powerful speech delivered at a key event in Brussels. 

For the unversed, the Duchess of Edinburgh recently attended the "Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse: Global Action to Combat a Global Crime" event where she urged the delegates to safeguard children's rights. 

According to King Charles' office, she "addressed an international audience of government representatives, as well as from the tech sector on the subject of child sexual exploitation and abuse."

In his meaningful speech, Sophie said, "I implore you now, on behalf of the children of today and tomorrow, to redouble your efforts in prioritising their safety."

The royal family's spokesperson shared that the mother-of-two, who is a Patron of the NSPCC and Plan International UK, encouraged delegates at the session to "work towards finding solutions to ongoing threats posed by social media and generative AI, and to consult with young people who ‘are keen to be the architects of their futures."

It is also important to note that Sophie addressed the "evolving threat online" in a roundtable discussion with global child rights NGOs and survivors.

The message behind the discussion was to urge people to play their part in finding solutions.

It is important to note that Duchess Sophie's latest update came amid King Charles' growing health struggles due to cancer treatment.
