American actress Drew Barrymore rose to fame as a child actress starring in movies like E.T. Extra Terrestrial, Scream and Posion Ivy.
The actress was introduced to the world of Hollywood at a very young age while she was facing family issues at home.
Barrymore cut ties with her mother, Jaid Barrymore, and was granted emancipation from father, John Drew Barrymore, at the age of 14.
The star grew up in a broken home which she did not want for her children, however it became the reality of her daughters as well.
The Donnie Darko star divorced her husband Will Kopelman in 2016. The former couple shares two daughters, Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10.
On her show, The Drew Barrymore Show, the host shared how she wanted to do a traditional dynamic for her family because she did not grow up that way.
Barrymore shared her struggles of growing up as a child of a broken family saying “I was so jealous of those kids who would call and be like ‘Mom, Dad, come pick me up.’ I just would sit there and be like ‘What's that like?’”
