Tyla has opened up about the whirlwind moment her life changed forever and it sounds like fame hit her like a tidal wave.

The 24-year-old chart-topper shot to global stardom with her smash hit Water in 2024, but behind the scenes, things weren’t always as smooth as her silky vocals.

Speaking candidly, Tyla admitted her world “literally flipped on its head” after the song exploded across charts and social media.

Coming from South Africa, the sudden leap into international fame was no small adjustment.

“Where I’m from is very different,” she shared, revealing how the drastic shift forced her to quickly adapt to a whole new lifestyle and industry pressure.

But while the success brought glitz and global recognition, it also came with a darker side.

The songstress confessed she felt “trapped” at the height of her breakout moment, overwhelmed by the pressure to be perfect as all eyes turned towards her.

“It was kind of stressful,” she admitted, hinting at the emotional toll of overnight fame.

Still, the rising star hasn’t let the pressure dim her shine.

Instead, she’s leaned into trusting her instincts and embracing the journey.

Now, she says she’s finally at a place where she’s “having the most fun”.

And there’s no denying her impact as Tyla has helped push amapiano, a genre rooted in South Africa, onto the global stage, something she calls a dream come true.

Her secret weapon was confidence or as critics might call it, “a little bit of arrogance”.

But Tyla stands by it, insisting belief in yourself is key in an industry that can easily box you in.
