Pop sensation Selena Gomez’s mother set an example for female entrepreneurs with a special message.
Mandy Teefay, who is a former stage actress and producer, took to Instagram to share her bitter experience with followers.
The 48-year-old, encouraging the young business minds, posted a “quick lesson” for ladies who are discredited “even with a proven record, be kind to yourself and let it motivate you.”
The owner of mental fitness company uploaded a throwback picture of her younger-self with the Fetish singer in her arms, reminding every lady to retain her identity.
The producer recalled a moment where a rude investor tried to downplay her achievements as she was fundraising for her dream project.
She wrote a lengthy note: “I had a pitch we nailed it. I was the only woman in the pitch,” but the investor ignored her as he entertained other players. He only looked at the momager to make a rude remark, “And Mandy you gave birth to Selena.”
The producer of Netflix-hit laughed as she proudly listed all her accomplishments, “yes I did and [Gomez’s sister] Gracie and [13] Reasons Why and Wondermind and I must say, “that’s bigger accomplishment [than] being charismatic.”
Mandy welcomed Selena when she was a teenager herself, just 16 years old. The CEO backed her popstar daughter by being her manager during the start of Lose You to Love Me hitmaker’s career.
Since then, the momager partnered with the songstress to work in her production company Kicked to the Curb and co-founded a mental health institute.
