Kelly Clarkson has abruptly announced the cancellation of her Studio Sessions residency in Las Vegas shows for all of August, for an unexpected reason.
The mother-of-two revealed that she would be taking time off for her children, River, 10, and Remington, eight, since her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock, has not been well.
In a post on her official Instagram account, the three-time Grammy winner wrote, “Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas.”
Kelly continued noting, “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”
The Kelly Clarkson Show host did not disclose the illness in the post that devastated fans who were expecting to see her, but also sympathetic about her obligation to her young ones.
At the end of the short note, Kelly apologized for the inconvenience, while also thanking fans for their grace and understanding.
The 43-year-old had cancelled her very first shows on July 4 and 5 to protect her vocal chords from being damage since the prep and rehearsals for the performances had taken a toll on her.
Kelly had filed for divorce from Brandon, citing irreconcilable differences in 2020, but the separation was finalized in 2022.
