Ben Affleck's post-divorce dating life: Why he's taking it slow

Ben Affleck may have gone through his second divorce, but the actor is reportedly keeping his heart open and exploring the possibility of finding love again—this time, with more caution.

According to a source cited by InTouch, the Gone Girl star is slowly reentering the dating scene, surrounding himself with supportive and sober-minded individuals.

"Ben isn’t rushing into any serious relationship at this stage of his life, but he hasn’t ruled out dating," the insider revealed.

They further explained that Affleck’s social circle has changed significantly since becoming sober, noting: "His new friends, since getting sober, include a lot of AA and Al-Anon members."

While Affleck has been meeting accomplished women through his 12-step recovery program, the insider clarified that he hasn’t found anyone he’s serious about yet.

"So, while not everyone is sober, the women he’s meeting know more about navigating a relationship with a member of the sober community. He’s met some very accomplished women through the 12-step program, and as far as I know, no one he’s serious about."

The source emphasized that Affleck is being mindful of who he chooses to date, explaining: "He doesn’t want to date a woman with no clue about addiction."

Affleck’s relationship with ex-wife Jennifer Garner has reportedly shaped his expectations in future relationships.

"A perfect example is his ex, Garner, who is now well aware of how alcoholics operate, and she understands him better than anyone."

Despite taking things slowly, Affleck is still hopeful about finding lasting love.

"Ben does want to find a lasting love, he’s just being more cautious about who he chooses," the source added.
