US President Donald Trump has long expressed his admiration for the British royal family, and it appears he holds Prince William and Kate Middleton in particularly high regard.
According to an insider who spoke to Hello Magazine, the US president sees the Prince and Princess of Wales as a key force in strengthening the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom.
"Trump simply adores the royals, even if he has little time for some of our politicians. He has a very good relationship with the King and Queen, but he sees William and Catherine as the future and the glamorous younger couple of the monarchy. He loves some of their stardust rubbing off on him, and it is vitally important that the most is made of these relationships," the source revealed.
Earlier, reports also suggest that Prince William’s evolving relationship with Trump could play a crucial role in navigating current political challenges between the US and UK. A White House insider told The Telegraph that William holds "really powerful, really important influence" in shaping diplomatic ties.
"The biggest thing right now is making sure the relationship between the US and UK doesn’t go off track and we try to repair some of the damage. That is where I think the King and Prince William can really help," the source said.
Meanwhile, a Palace insider confirmed that William is aware of his diplomatic responsibilities: "It’s important that we’re not involved in day-to-day politics, but when there’s an ask for support from His Majesty’s government, the Prince is happy to play his role."
Another source further emphasized William’s rising status on the global stage, stating: "The President looks to the King, and now William, for things that are going on in the UK."
With Prince William and Kate Middleton being increasingly recognized for their diplomatic presence, their influence in shaping UK-US relations appears to be stronger than ever.
Reports suggest he views them as the glamorous, younger face of the monarchy, capable of strengthening US-UK ties.
