Robert De Niro, famed Hollywood actor, has made his small screen debut with the highly anticipated Netflix political thriller, Zero Day.
It boasts a hugely star studded cast that includes Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Dan Stevens, Bill Camp and more.
“In the midst of crisis: how can we discover the truth when it seems that the world is being destroyed by uncontrollable forces? Also, to what extent are conspiracy theories our own inventions or products of our imagination?,” reads the vague synopsis.
Right on the heels of its release, the series has been flooded by negative reviews from critics and fans alike.
“'Zero Day' features an all-star cast headlined by Robert De Niro, yet this six-part Netflix cyberthriller is a muddled, labored, suspense-challenged washout,” said one critic.
While a user wrote, “even by the standards of modern miniseries, the cast-to-quality ratio of ZERO DAY — starring robert de niro(!!) — is seriously out of whack. this show made my brain feel like it was covered in cotton balls.”
Variety called the show “a limited series that shares wooden dialogue, incoherent politics and a dishwater palette with its wildly popular predecessor.”
The new political thriller from Netflix that stars veteran Hollywood actor Robert De Niro is Zero Day. It is currently available for streaming on Netflix. It also stars Angela Bassett, Lizzy Caplan, Connie Britton, Dan Stevens and Bill Camp.
