Ryan Reynolds’ absence in 2025 Critics Choice Awards was questioned by his admirers, as he decided to skip the event for unknown reasons.

The Canadian actor was expected by his fans to attend the star-studded event, as his megahit was nominated for category Best Comedy. The movie ended up winning the type alongside A Real Pain.

Despite missing out on the ceremony, Reynolds took to Instagram to express his gratitude on the win. Ryan wrote: "Zing! Thanks @criticschoice — whole team @deadpoolmovie is thrilled."

He also gave a shout out to the team of fellow winner in the same post. “Huge congrats to @arealpainfilm,” Ryan further added.

Although it is being speculated that the star is soon buying another soccer team, the Free Guy artist seemingly shunned the lavish show, fueling speculation that he couldn't join other celebrities because of his wife Blake Lively’s a lawsuit battle.

The Hollywood duo have opted out of limelight amid Baldoni and Lively legal war. Earlier sources confirmed Blake Lively will not be accompanying her friend Taylor Swift at the Super Bowl LIX.

The couple usually avoids events to show support to one another. The Green Lantern’s hero, while talking to People, described how the two are connected by saying, "As I'm rooting for her, I know she's rooting for me.”

Lively’s husband, however, was recently spotted at JP Morgan summit sharing time on stage with Disney CEO Bob Iger and agent Bryan Lourd.

The winner film, released in July 2024, is authored and produced by Ryan Reynolds, co-starring Hugh Jackman.
