Noah Centineo, an American actor, sat down for an interview with People where he opened up about his series, The Recruit.

He spends the majority of the series avoiding a harrowing amount of attempts on his life, on which he comments, "It's funny. If it wasn't so true, it would be absurdist. It walks that line, But it's almost like — truth is stranger than fiction."

The “truth” in the series is brought to life due to the executive producer, retired CIA lawyer Adam Ciralsky.

"There's a lot in our show that is actually based in stories that Adam Ciralsky – who the show was loosely based off of — has told us,” the actor revealed.

Applauding the show’s creator, he continued, "And I think what [creator] Alexi [Hawley] does so beautifully is he walks this tightrope of drama and humor, and he kind of weaves it together. And so right when it gets kind of dark and deep, he's able to subvert that and make it funny again."

Other elements which helped them make things more realistic was immersion, as Centineo revealed, "We shot at the CIA. They gave us clearance, which is insane. I think we were the first show to shoot at the new headquarters too."

Because he had been there to prepare beforehand, the All The Boys I’ve Loved Before star did not feel nervous on set, "It was like going home, weirdly.”
