Halle Berry gets defended by fans after former husband’s remarks

Halle Berry is one of the most successful actresses in Hollywood who became the only African-American woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress, and the first woman of color.

The actress was married to baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997, which she described as a depressive period of her life.

In a recent appearance David made on the All The Smoke podcast last week, he made controversial comments about the Hollywood diva and their marriage.

The sportsperson explained why their marriage ended and what led to it. David said Halle did not “cook and clean”, comparing her to his mother.

“And at that time, as a young guy, she don’t cook, don’t clean, don’t really seem like motherly. Eventually, I realise this isn’t the person I wanted to spend my life with.”, David admitted.

He also added that she was the one who asked her to marry him and he “didn’t want to make her feel bad”. Eventually their honeymoon stage ended and they both realised what marriage really was.

The internet has stepped up to defend the actress now saying David was “looking for a housekeeper, not a partner”.

A person wrote “Lol, he really thought she was gonna stop her acting career and become a housewife”.

The couple’s marriage ended on June 20, 1997 after they had separated in February 1996.
