Halle Berry’s former husband David Justice opens up about why their marriage ended with some eyebrow raising, personal remarks.
The former Major League Baseball and the Catwoman actress were married for four years, with their divorce occurring in 1997 and now the 59-year-old is opening about his side of things.
In an episode of Matt Barnes' All the Smoke podcast, he detailed that five months into the pair’s wedding, the honeymoon phase was over and he began desiring more traditionality from the relationship.
"Then I'm thinking, 'OK, if we have kids, is this the woman I want to have kids with and build a family with?' At that time, as a young guy — she don't cook, don't clean, don't really seem like motherly, and then we start having issues,” Justice stated.
The designated hitter then made another surprising comment, noting that Berry proposed to him merely months after they went official.
"I said OK, because I couldn't say no. Who's going to say no at that time?I don't know if my heart was really into it, but I didn't want to make her feel bad and say no, you know, or [if] I was just in the moment," he said.
Justice also confessed that his lack of exploration into other relationships before the Golden Globe winner and his youth were also to blame for things not working out.
