Netflix's latest limited series Griselda featuring Sofía Vergara as the infamous cartel leader Griselda Blanco, has stirred renewed interest in the life of the notorious figure.
As reported by PEOPLE, Blanco's story was previously brought to life by Catherine Zeta-Jones in the 2017 Lifetime movie Cocaine Godmother.
However, now the streaming service has resurrected her role, portrayed by the Modern Family alum, in Griselda, which debuted on January 25, 2024.
Blanco, known to be a ruthless cocaine queen pin, once ruled the Colombian underworld for nearly five decades.

Blanco was a mother to four sons. She welcomed Uber Trujillo, Dixon Trujillo, and Osvaldo Trujillo with her first husband Carlo Trujillo.
She gave birth to Michael Corleone Blanco, with her third husband Darío Sepúlveda.
Blanco, when she was a teenager, tied the knot with her first husband in Colombia. Following their divorce, reportedly, she had him killed.
Later the cartel leader exchanged vows with, Alberto Bravo, who helped her develop her cocaine empire in the U.S. until both flew to Colombia amid a federal investigation in 1975.
In a twist of events, they eventually shot each other in a dispute over their business from which only Blanco survived.
Her third marriage was with Sepúlveda, the two got married in 1978.
Despite welcoming a son, Michael Corleone Blanco, into the world, their relationship soured due to infidelity and custody disputes.
As per Miami New Times reported, she also had her third husband killed in 1983.
