A video was shared by Pop Crave on Twitter, which showed the As It Was singer getting struck in the eye by an object as he hastened backstage during his show in Vienna on Saturday.

In the clip, Styles could be seen wincing with pain before holding his head in his hand after an unknown object flew and hit him in the face.

Last month, Bebe Rexha had to get stitches after a concertgoer pelted his phone and hit her in the head. The perpetrator turned out to be a man named Nicolas Malvagna, who told the Manhattan District Attorney’s office that he "was trying to see if I could hit her with the phone at the end of the show because it would be funny."

Ava Max got slapped in the face after a concertgoer jumped to the stage only days after Rexha’s incident.

Last week, Pink was taken aback with surprise after a fan threw their mother’s ashes while she was performing at a show in London, followed by Kelsea Ballerini getting hit in the eye by a bracelet.

Several artists, including Charlie Puth and Adele, have rallied behind singers and called out the caveman behaviour.

During a recent show at her Las Vegas residency earlier this week, the Easy on Me singer rebuked: "Have you noticed how people are like, forgetting [expletive] show etiquette at the moment? People just throwing shit on stage, have you seen them.

"I [expletive] dare you. Dare you to throw something at me and I’ll [expletive] kill you."
