King Charles may have to cough up money in compensation for Prince Andrew to forcibly vacate his current royal residence.
It was reported this week that the disgraced royal was informed to vacate the Royal Lodge and that the monarch ordered to "even turn off the utilities" to get him to leave.
According to The Telegraph Andrew has expressed that he has no intentions to move, adding that he has spent only 20 years of his signed 75-year lease which he signed in 2003.
A source told the paper: "His position has always been that he has a home of some 20 years with a 75-year lease on it in exchange for the £12 million he spent from the proceeds of Sunninghill Park to renovate it."
"It’s really quite straightforward. His personal funding of those renovations meant there was no cost to the royal finances and certainly no cost to the taxpayer."
The mansion, which he shared with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, is reportedly expected to house Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Prince Andrew, instead, is expected to move to Frogmore Cottage, much to his alleged displeasure.
The notice of "eviction" comes after the Duke of York was cut off from his annual allowance of £249,000.
A source told Mail on Sunday: "He is so fragile. He’s refusing to see anybody. This has been his family home for the past 20 years. Is it really sensible to kick him out?"
