Prince William opens up about his fears for George, Charlotte, Louis's futures

Ahead of the Earthshot Prize Awards in Brazil, Prince William opened up about his biggest fear: the world his children will inherit. 

Speaking in an emotional new interview with Hello! Magazine, the Prince of Wales reflected on how being a father to Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis fuels his fight for the planet.

“As a father, I think constantly about the world my children will inherit,” William said. 

“I want them to grow up surrounded by nature, opportunity, and a sense of hope about the future. But unless we act boldly now, that future is at risk.”

Launched in 2020, the Earthshot Prize remains William’s most ambitious global project, rewarding those tackling the planet’s biggest environmental challenges. 

“Urgent optimism is the heartbeat of The Earthshot Prize,” he added. 

“It’s not blind hope, it’s hope backed by evidence, courage, and those who refuse to give up on our planet.”

This year’s event in Rio de Janeiro will feature performances by Kylie Minogue, Shawn Mendes, and Brazilian stars Anitta and Gilberto Gil.
