Shemar Moore is back.
Shemar Moore is eager to assist CBS to celebrate 'The Young and the Restless' 50th anniversary.
According to Deadline, the actor, who rose to popularity in 1994 as Malcolm Winters on the hit soap opera — a role that garnered him a Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding supporting actor in 2000 — will return to reprise his fan-favourite character on May 8.
Moore will reconcile with his daughter Lily (Christel Khalil) and nephews Devon (Bryton James) and Nate in the special episode, which will commemorate the soap's milestone anniversary, which took place earlier this week on March 26. (Sean Dominic).
Moore, 52, shared the news on Instagram on Friday, writing: "Aaayyee!!! Ya Boy Malcolm Winters is coming back to @youngandrestlesscbs on Monday MAY 8th."
Moore first appeared on the show as Malcolm in 1994 and left in 2005. He has since made several appearances on the daytime soap.
In 2019, the show aired special memorial episodes honouring his late castmate and onscreen sibling, Kristoff St. John, who played Neil Winters. On February 3, 2019, St. John died unexpectedly at the age of 52.
Moore went on to star in Criminal Minds for 11 years after leaving the show, and he presently plays Sergeant Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson on CBS's S.W.A.T. From 1999 to 2003, he hosted the musical variety show Soul Train, and he is the founder of the clothing line Baby Girl, which promotes multiple sclerosis research.
