George Clooney defended and encouraged Adam Sandler amid the shooting of their upcoming project Jay Kelly.
The movie stars George as the aging actor and Murder Mystery’s star as his manager, Ron, following the two men’s journey of figuring questions out, regarding their relationships and legacies.
While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the actor who has won five Golden Globes awards revealed how on the set of the movie that is coming out on Netflix on December 5, Adam degraded himself by letting people calls him names.
The 64-year-old confessed how he wanted Adam to be taken seriously because of his incredible talent.
He further stated, “You get treated the way you treat yourself. This was a different kind of role for Adam, and I wanted to make sure that he wasn’t making fun of his incredible talent.”
The Academy Awards winner even asked staff and the crew to not call Adam ‘Sandman’ anymore because he wants people to recognise Adam as he has more to him.
George told Adam that, “you’re a really good actor and let’s not just make jokes." However, Emmy awards winner also disclosed how he himself calls him Sandman but knows how protective George is of him and praised him by calling him a ‘good guy’.
For the unfamiliar, the project of both famous actors is coming out on November 14 in theaters and will later be released on Netflix on December 5.
