Niall Horan debuted alongside Chance the Rapper, Kelly Clarkson, and Blake Shelton as a coach on The Voice Season 23

Niall Horan would go to lengths to secure the best.

Season 23 of The Voice kicked off last night with an introduction of Horan and Chance the Rapper as the coaches panel alongside Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson for the rest of the season.

The premiere episode of the competition featured blind auditions, which is a task for contestants and coaches alike: contestants have to give their best performances to be in demand by the coaches, and the latter has to convince the participants to join their team.

The One Direction prompted hysterical laughs when he didn’t hide his desperation to have Ross Clayton, a country singer, on his team.

Clayton wowed the coaches with his rendition of Keith Urban’s Blue Ain’t Your Color and all four of them pushed the buzzers to turn around.

As Clarkson insisted that Ross has a “huge, beautiful gift,” and Chance the Rapper agreed on the musician’s “unique tone,” Horan really weighed the stakes and stood up from his chair and pushed the buttons on Blake, Kelly and Chance’s chair to spin them back so they can’t see Ross on the stage anymore.

"See how much power I've got around here? I can spin chairs. That's never been done," Niall quipped, adding: "Your voice is absolutely incredible.”

Ross eventually ended up choosing the Slow Hands singer with the latter earning praise for his power move from the coaches.
