Meghan Markle went out of her way to help needy, says Tyler Perry

For a family in need, Meghan Markle went above and beyond.

At the Baby2Baby Gala in West Hollywood on Tuesday night, Tyler Perry claimed that the 41-year-old Duchess of Sussex personally browsed stores for infant formula amid the earlier-this-year scarcity.

The 53-year-old writer/director reportedly informed the 800 people in attendance that he was approached by a worker who was in a crisis and desperately needed infant formula.

After Perry's own search proved fruitless, he turned to friends in England, Meghan and Prince Harry. Meghan went out looking for the recipe herself while the California-based couple was in the U.K. at the time, possibly for Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee celebration in June, according to Perry.

The Madea director and Meghan have a history of supporting one another. Meghan, 38, and Harry, 38, remained at Perry's Los Angeles estate while transitioning out of their senior royal posts in 2020.

They spent a few months living in the Beverly Hills mansion with their baby Archie Harrison before purchasing a home in Montecito. In June 2021, they would welcome their daughter Lilibet Diana.

Meghan recently disclosed that she and her husband had never met the filmmaker before they stayed in his house, a move that underscored Perry's benevolence. The host of the Archetypes podcast revealed to The Cut in its autumn fashion edition how she and Perry met when she wed Harry in 2019.

At the time, Perry assured her that he was praying for her, that he understood what it meant, and that he could only imagine what that must have been like. He also promised to be there for her whenever she needed support or guidance.
