Selena Gomez reveals why she decided to name her new kidney after comedian Fred Armisen.

After getting a kidney transplant in 2017, Selena Gomez decided to give a special name to her new organ.

As per Enews, Selena gave an interview to Rolling Stone on November 3, where she gave the reason, "I named it after Fred Armisen because I love Portlandia."

The 30 year old singer and actress further said, "I've never met him, but I'm secretly hoping he finds that out just because I want him to be like, 'That's weird.'"

Fred Armisen made Portlandia, an absurdist comedy series, to poke fun at the hipster reputation of Portland. 

The show went on from 2011 to 2018, and the last few seasons of the show aired when Gomez was battling with lupus about which she delved into in her new Apple TV+ documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me.
