Donda Rapper in an All-black Combat Look

Kanye West made his runway debut as he opened for Balenciaga’s spring/summer 2023 show during Paris fashion week.

The Donda rapper kicked off the show in an all-black combat look that featured a heavy duty vest and a baseball cap.

Cheering him on were his four kids North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3, who he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, as well as Kylie Jenner.

The concept of the runway show was rather deep as it was staged at Parc des Expositions and had a dark theme with mud on the runway.

According to Balenciaga’s creative director Demna Gvasalia, the idea of the collection was to define the concept of personal identity being a "battlefield".

"One needs to have courage and persistence to truly assume their identity and who they really are," read part of his statement. 

"And the more you try to be yourself the more you get punched in your face … The challenge is to get up and keep walking towards your true self after you have been beaten up and knocked down."
