Adele recalls ‘the worst moment’ in her life, postponing Vegas residency

Before she announced its cancellation the night before it was scheduled to begin, Adele was all set to take over Las Vegas with her new residency earlier this year.

The Colosseum at Caesars Palace was set to host "Weekends with Adele" performances from January 21 through April. She was scheduled to play for thousands of ticket holders after months of planning and rehearsals.

The "Easy On Me" singer admitted to Elle magazine in a cover story that was released on Monday that she realized the event lacked sincerity despite everything that was at risk.

“There was just no soul in it,” Adele stated. “The stage setup wasn’t right. It was very disconnected from me and my band, and it lacked intimacy. And maybe I tried too hard to give it those things in such a controlled environment.”

The day before the album's release, on January 20, the 34-year-old Grammy-winning performer uploaded a tearful Instagram video announcing the cancellation.

“It was the worst moment in my career, by far,” Adele revealed. “I was so excited about those shows. It was devastating.”

Adele received criticism for her last-minute choice, especially because many people had already made travel plans or were in Sin City.
