TikTok star Miranda Derrick taunts parents after claiming she is taken by cult

TikTok star Miranda Derrick has posted a video mocking her family’s claims that she has been abducted by a cult.

In the video she could be seen creating TikTok videos while a black clothed figure stood in the background, who is depicted by her husband James.

In the caption of the video she wrote: "When you're TAKEN... way too long to film. IFYK"

For the unversed, the dig comes after Miranda’s parents posted an Instagram video revealing concerning behaviour about their daughter.

The worried parents shared that their daughter may have been taken by a Los Angeles cult which was run by a pastor who was also accused of stealing millions from someone.

Melaine’s parents, Kelly and Dean, said that they have not been able to contact their daughter since January 2021 after she had refused to go to her grandfather’s funeral.

They shared that the 24-year-old TikTok star left last year to join an entertainment management company named 7M Films, which is tied back to a church called Shekinah Church. 

Following the video, many speculated that the family would find Miranda's response to be a low blow for them.
