Sarah Ferguson opens up about maintaining transparency with daughters

Sarah Ferguson, who suffered multiple cancer diagnosis last year, talked about being frank with her daughters.

During an interview with Hello Magazine, Fergie spoke about being open with Princess Beatrice and Eugenie during her cancer battle.

The Duchess of York revealed, "I have always brought up my girls to be so honest and frank that they know I’m going to tell it to them straight, however difficult it is.”

When asked about being honest, Fergie responded, “yes, they knew they were safe."

In June 2023, a spokesperson for the Duchess of York had announced her breast cancer diagnosis.

In January the next year she was diagnosed with skin cancer, malignant melanoma.

A source told PEOPLE at that time, “Ferguson was very relieved that the cancer hadn’t spread.”

To maintain her health she goes for her regular check-ups and applies skin cream to avoid big blisters and breakouts.
