Actress Patricia Heaton was celebrating 3 years of ‘freedom from alcohol’ as she announced in a video via Twitter.

The Carol’s Second Act star has 400,000 followers whom she addressed, after a 3.5-mile hike.

In the video, Patricia said, "It’s July when we celebrate our nation’s freedom. Also celebrating three years of freedom from alcohol for me.”

According to the star, she had reached a personal milestone in her life.

She continued, "So, I just wanted to share that with you. And message me if any of you are thinking about doing that, any of you are doing that now and need some encouragement or anything at all. Have a great day."

In an interview with Parade Magazine last year, Patricia who hailed from Ohio opened up on her fitness and health regime.

To keep her fit, the Everybody Loves Raymond star ensured that she swam 5 laps four to five times a week and followed a low fat and high carb diet pattern.

Regarding her drinking habit, she claimed to have rid herself of it in 2018, but not because she was addicted to it, but as she was enjoying it a lot more.

To the magazine, Patricia said, "I miss it terribly, but at the end of the day, I feel better. I noticed that I was looking forward every night to cocktails. And if I happened to go to lunch, I might have a glass of wine or Prosecco."

According to statistics, it is believed that women who drink in their mid-30s and 40s end up getting addicted as they age.

She shared, “My kids are in their mid-20s and I’ll probably be in my 70s by the time I have grandchildren. I want to be healthy for them."

Recently, the star published her own book Our Second Act: Inspiring Stories of Reinvention. In the book, she highlighted that she wanted to take more time out for herself and focus on her career being an empty-nester.
