Chris Evans reportedly returning to Marvel to reprise the Captain America role

American actor Chris Evans, who is best known for his stunning performance as Captain America has reportedly been in talks with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The reports rumored that he will be likely to reprise the iconic Captain America role in an upcoming movie.

An insider source told media outlet Deadline that Evans will be seen on-screen once again as Steve Rogers. The film likely would not revolve around Captain America’s own storyline, however, it will feature the character only.

However, the Marvel studios did not respond to the publication’s request for comment.

In a tweet on Thursday, Evans,39, himself looked shocked with the news. He wrote, “News to me,” alongside a shrugging emoji.

The development comes after Evans formally hung up his superhero costume in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. At the end of the film, he made the gesture of passing Captain America’s shield to Falcon (Anthony Mackie), who presumably took over the title and relieves Steve of his alter ego.

Fans are super excited with the news to see their favorite star playing the iconic superhero again. The news is yet to be confirmed by the studio and producers.
