Elon Musk dubs Twitter a 'flaming dumpster', plans to redesign it

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, is apparently considering a complete redesign of the social media site as issues for the industry leader keep getting worse.

The political commentator Dave Rubin wrote an extensive thread on Twitter in which he described a recent trip to the San Francisco offices of Twitter and discussed some issues that are developing there.

During his visit, he had two meetings with Elon Musk, the company's CEO, who called Twitter "a Fractal Rube Goldberg Machine." In essence, because of how fragile its system is, it's in a precarious balance and a single mistake may bring down the entire internet.

Even more, according to Rubin, Musk was considering deleting Twitter's code and starting over. describing the situation as "a flaming dumpster rolling down the street" to the commentator.

Additionally, he claimed that Twitter does implement shadowbans, but prior to his departure, former CEO Jack Dorsey consistently asserted that they are not. With designations like "recent disinformation strike," "recent abuse strike," and "recent suspension strike," Rubin claimed that his own account had been subject to the bans.

Furthermore, he mentioned a KeyWord database that Twitter reportedly maintains. A machine learning system makes sure that no violent or excessively explicit information is promoted on the social networking platform.
