Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie officially parted ways after their divorce was settled in December 2024.
The 62-year-old actor and his former wife share three biological children together: Knox, Vivienne and Shiloh. They also adopted three children.
It was reported by People Magazine that their daughter Vivienne decided to drop her father’s name officially as she filed a case.
The 18-year-old mentioned in the court documents that the reason for the big change is “personal” as she filed a petition in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
According to the outlet, the hearing is scheduled to take place on November 2 after which she will legally be Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.
This came after the Hollywood actress and Brad’s children dropped his surname. So far, Zahra, Maddox and Shiloh have made a move to legally change their names.
It is to be noted that Shiloh’s petition has been approved in 2024 while the other two are still pending.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Troy star admitted that “it’s sad to see someone repeatedly publicize their successful alienation of their children from the other parent.”
In 2021, Angelina expressed her excitement to see her six children, three adopted, go through “different stages and feelings and curiosities.”
The two ended their marriage after an abusive situation that unfolded between the family in 2016. However, the ex-couple cited “irreconcilable differences” between the two.
