Kelly Osbourne breaks hearts with emotional Ozzy anniversary tribute

Kelly Osbourne has shared a deeply emotional tribute to her late father Ozzy Osbourne, revealing that she no longer recognises the person she was before his death.

The 41-year-old TV personality marked the first anniversary of the Black Sabbath legend’s passing by opening up about the devastating impact grief has had on her life. 

For the unversed, Ozzy died in July 2025 at the age of 76, leaving behind a family still coming to terms with the loss.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Kelly admitted that losing her father had split her life into “two people”, the one she was before his death and the one left behind.

“I don’t just mourn the father I lost,” she wrote. “I mourn the soul I was before death taught my heart its own name.”

She reflected on how grief had transformed her, describing it as something that steals more than a loved one. 

The songstress said it quietly takes away laughter, hope and innocence, leaving behind a stranger she is still trying to understand.

She also challenged the common idea that grief is simply missing someone who has died, insisting the greatest pain is longing for the version of yourself that disappeared alongside them.

“I miss who I was before my daddy died,” Kelly confessed. 

“Before my heart became a home for absence. Before every memory became both a blessing and a wound.”

She ended her moving message by calling it grief’s “cruellest truth” that death leaves those left behind feeling like “ghosts” of who they once were.

Fans flooded the comments with messages of love and support, many sharing their own experiences of losing a parent. 

One follower said grief changes a person forever, while another admitted they too had lost part of themselves after their father's death. 

A third thanked Kelly for finding the words to describe emotions so many people struggle to express.
