‘Jurassic Park’ star Sam Neill dies at 78: Cause confirmed

Jurassic Park star Sam Neill has died at the age of 78 after battling pneumonia, his representative has confirmed.

In a statement to the publisher, his representative said the actor had previously overcome lymphoma after undergoing CAR-T therapy before falling ill.

"Prior to becoming sick, Sam had valiantly fought and beaten lymphoma through a new treatment called CAR-T therapy," the veteran actor’s agent said, as per People magazine.

The representative also revealed that the late star had filmed four projects over the past year while continuing to run his winery, Two Paddocks.

"I'd like to thank those who were truly close to Sam for considering his privacy with the respect he earned and his loved ones need and deserve during this immeasurably difficult time," the statement added.

Meanwhile, Neill's family earlier described his death as "sudden and unexpected," saying he passed away surrounded by loved ones.

For the unversed, he was diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma in 2022 and later said he was in remission, although he expected to continue chemotherapy for the rest of his life.
