Donald Trump, the president of the United States, ignited an intense debate online after FIFA president made an important announcement.

The 2026 season kickstarted with multiple celebrities and notable figures from different fields, visiting the stadium.

However, football fans have disapproved the decision of the board’s announcement that Trump would be presenting the cups to champions of the World Cup.

The online community was quick to call out the decision with one X user noting that they hope “the boos are SO loud,” while another was of the opinion that he would “ruin the mood.”

A netizen questioned the announcement, writing on the platform: “Why does he want to be the face of everything so bad?”

This came after the politician made an appearance at the Madison Square Garden during Game 3 of the NBA final playoff.

He was seen standing with Kai Trump when he was shown at the jumboton, saluting at the crowd. However, people attending claimed that the audience booed at the president.
