Jennifer Garner has recently revealed rare parenting approach as she co-parents her three kids with ex-husband Ben Affleck.
The 13 Going On 30 actress hopes that her children could inherit one particular personality trait that they will carry with them into adulthood.
“I hope they value humour,” says the 54-year-old in a new interview with Better Homes and Gardens for July/August 2026 issue.
Jennifer mentions that she wants her kids to “laugh” their way through it and even “loving people through it, finding what's funny”.
In addition to valuing humour, the Alias actress hopes her children also maintain a lifelong appreciation for books and music.
“I hope they take music and books with them,” states Jennifer.

The Elektra actress opens up that she loves to bake her own bread as she finds the smell of bagels or cinnamon bread very “healing”.
Amid her mommy duties, Jennifer also arranges fun nights with her children and their friends at home.
“It includes getting in the pool with the kids at night and chatting as well as looking at a crescent moon,” adds the Yes Day actress.
