Corey Feldman breaks silence after sudden hospital dash

Corey Feldman has reassured fans after a sudden hospital dash sparked concern during his latest US trip, with his team confirming the actor was actually battling food poisoning.

The 54-year-old former child star began feeling seriously unwell while travelling from Chicago to Los Angeles on Monday. 

What started as a rough flight quickly turned into a medical emergency on landing, with paramedics meeting him at the airport and rushing him to a nearby hospital for checks.

Initial fears among medical staff reportedly included more serious conditions such as gallstones or pancreatitis after Feldman’s symptoms worsened mid-journey. 

A doctor on board the aircraft is said to have first raised the alarm, prompting the urgent response when the plane touched down in California.

However, his spokesperson has now moved to calm concerns, confirming The Lost Boys actor’s condition was far less severe than first feared.

“Corey is doing much better and is now out of the hospital,” the representative said, adding that the illness was food poisoning and that he is recovering well.

The spokesperson also shared his appreciation for the outpouring of support from fans. 

“Corey wants to thank everyone for all of the love and well wishes. He has definitely seen a lot of the messages and really appreciates everything,” they added.

The health scare came at the end of a busy period for The Goonies actor, who had been in Chicago for an event marking the 40th anniversary of Stand By Me. 

He appeared alongside co-stars Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton during a speaking tour across the US.
