Olivia Rodrigo is officially on top of the world right now after her latest album You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love shattered streaming records within hours of release.
The 23-year-old pop sensation dropped her third studio album on Friday, and it didn’t take long for it to make history.
Spotify confirmed the record-breaking news on X, revealing it became the most-streamed album in a single day in 2026 by a female artist.
Not to be outdone, Amazon Music also revealed the album achieved the biggest global first 24-hour streaming debut of any release this year, sharing the milestone on Instagram as fans rushed to press play worldwide.
Olivia has been riding a wave of success, but she’s also been reflecting on where the inspiration came from.
The songstress admitted she wrote a large portion of the album while spending time in London, saying she feels like her “best version” of herself in the UK capital.
She told Dazed that the city’s gloomy weather actually fuels her creativity, adding that rainy days make her want to stay indoors with a guitar and write. '
She even gave a nod to Manchester’s legendary music scene, joking that the constant rain probably explains why so many iconic bands come from there.
But amid the chart domination, the deja vu hitmaker also surprised fans with a personal revelation.
Appearing on KISS FM, she shared that she is “60 per cent deaf” in her left ear, explaining she sometimes struggles to hear people on one side.
