Heather McComb, ex-wife of James Van Der Beek, has opened up about a deeply emotional moment she experienced on her wedding day.

The 49 -year-old actress said that she believes the Dawson's Creek actor was “looking down” on her as she began a new chapter in her life.

The former couple were married from 2003 until 2010, before parting ways amicably.

Heather recently tied the knot with actor Scott Michael Campbell, and says her big day was filled with what she calls powerful spiritual signs.

Speaking to Us Weekly, she described how nature seemed to deliver symbolic messages throughout the ceremony.

“It was magical in the sense that we saw a double rainbow, two ladybugs and two white doves,” she said.

“I feel that is significant to Scott and I spiritually, and all the people that we lost, and we honour everybody who wasn’t there that day.”

She also reflected warmly on her connection with James, who later went on to marry Kimberly Van Der Beek in 2010, describing their relationship as one built on mutual respect.

She said she has nothing but admiration for the couple, calling them “true soulmates,” and adding that she felt comforted knowing the late actor would have supported her new marriage.

“I just want to say the love and respect and admiration I have for Kimberly is unparalleled,” she said, adding that she believes James would have wanted her to celebrate love again.

No One Would Tell star also shared that receiving what she called James’ “blessing” on her new relationship is something she will always treasure, describing it as a moment of peace and closure.

Following the wedding, she paid tribute to James as a “beautiful soul,” saying he remained an important part of her life story and someone she will always remember with gratitude and affection.
