Katie Thurston has shared a hugely encouraging health update after doctors found “no evidence of disease” in her liver following treatment for stage 4 breast cancer.
The 35-year-old former The Bachelorette star revealed the emotional news on her Boobie Broadcast channel, more than a year after being diagnosed with breast cancer and months after learning the disease had spread to her liver.
“Liver update: no evidence of disease!!” Katie wrote, celebrating what she described as a major milestone in her ongoing cancer battle.
While the positive results have given her fresh hope, the reality TV favourite admitted there is still uncertainty ahead.
Katie is due to undergo another PET scan later this month, which will provide a clearer picture of her overall condition following a double mastectomy earlier this year.
Reflecting on the latest findings, she explained that the tissue removed during surgery showed a “great response” to treatment, leaving her hopeful that any remaining cancer cells are either stable or continuing to shrink.
Doctors are still monitoring elevated liver enzyme levels, but the latest test results mark a significant step forward in her fight against the disease.
Katie previously revealed she chose to undergo a double mastectomy despite uncertainty over whether it would improve her long-term survival chances.
She said she wanted to do everything possible to maximise her odds.
“I refuse to call it a terminal illness,” she told People magazine.
“No one is promised tomorrow. Why waste the days I've been given stressing about death?”
Despite her determination, she has been open about the emotional toll of her diagnosis.
Ahead of surgery, she described moments of breaking down in tears and struggling with the reality of living with stage 4 cancer.
Yet throughout the toughest chapter of her life, she has continued to lean on the support of husband Jeff Arcuri, family, friends and fans.
