Chris Hemsworth has revealed he was left red-faced after a major travel mix-up saw him and his family stopped from boarding an international flight.
The 42-yera-old actor admitted he accidentally packed the wrong passport for one of his children and then tried but unsuccessfully, to convince airport officials everything was in order.
The Thor star, who shares daughter India, 13, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, 11, with wife Elsa Pataky, recalled the awkward moment during an interview with Harper’s Bazaar Arabia.
“I actually went to the airport once and I had my daughter’s passport instead of my son’s passport,” Chris confessed, joking that the children “kind of look the same”.
His wife was quick to disagree, “They don’t,” Elsa laughed.
Chris then revealed he attempted to talk his way through the situation by insisting the passport belonged to his son.
Airport staff were having none of it.
“I said, ‘Oh, yeah, this is her.’ And they were like, ‘That’s a boy. No.’ So, yeah, that didn’t work,” he admitted.
The mistake meant the family’s travel plans came to a sudden halt, with Elsa confirming they simply “couldn’t fly”.
Away from airport drama, Extraction actor recently opened up about his decision to leave Los Angeles and return to Australia with his family.
The Marvel star said life on their sprawling farm, complete with horses, motorbikes and nearby surf, feels like a permanent holiday compared to the pressures of Hollywood.
