Carmen Electra has given the new generation of Baywatch stars a no-nonsense reality check.

The 54-year-old actress warned that life on the iconic lifeguard drama is far tougher than it looks.

Carmen, who famously played Lani McKenzie on Baywatch back in 1997 and 1998, has urged the reboot cast to get themselves into “tip-top shape” before hitting the beach.

Speaking to E! News, she didn’t sugar-coat the experience, saying, “It’s a lot of hard work. So you just want to be in tip-top shape before you step out there, period.

And work on your swimming techniques. Because it’s hard. It’s not an easy job.”

The Scary Movie star revealed that during her own time on the show, she trained with a real-life lifeguard who pushed the cast to their limits.

“He was like, ‘You’ve got to do everything’. He was really tough on us,” she recalled, adding that she expects the new cast to face similar pressure.

Notably, the reboot features a fresh line-up including Brooks Nader, Shay Mitchell, and Noah Beck, among others, all stepping into the famous slow-motion running and rescue scenes made legendary by the original series.

Brooks, who once appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue, said she has been mentally preparing for years.

She described wearing the iconic red swimsuit for the first time as an “out-of-body experience”, adding that she has studied Pamela Anderson and Carmen’s performances since she was young.
