Travis Kelce speaks on NBA outing with Taylor Swift

Travis Kelce has shared details about a Cleveland visit with Taylor Swift, where the pair attended a recent NBA game and spent time courtside.

The Kansas City Chiefs star made the trip with the Opalite hitmaker to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers face the New York Knicks, later reflecting on the visit during the New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce.

“Getting Tay back to Cleveland and showing her my roots is always something I love doing,” the athlete said on the Wednesday, May 27 episode.

The host then asked if Swift had been taken around their old neighbourhood in Cleveland Heights, prompting the Super Bowl champion to joke that she had seen “the Heights,” but said this particular visit was mostly focused on the game.

“Not this time, not this time. We came in strictly for the game this time,” he added.

The NFL tight end said returning home always feels meaningful, noting his long connection to Cleveland sports growing up. “We’re diehard Cleveland sports lovers,” he said.

He also addressed speculation that he was trying to convert Swift into a Cleveland fan, brushing it off as light-hearted. “This was me just having a fun date night, knowing that I love going to basketball games.”

The NFL star added that they’ve attended several sporting events together, including tennis, baseball, and more, saying he enjoys sharing that part of his life with her.

“I love bringing her into the sports world that I appreciate,” he noted. 

“That’s why you’ve seen us at US Open tennis matches, baseball games… I just enjoy her experiencing what I’ve always enjoyed.”

Moreover, he also reacted to online jokes claiming he was asleep during the Cavaliers game, clarifying he was simply frustrated. 

“The Knicks f****** couldn’t miss a goddamn shot in the fourth quarter,” he said. “I just wanted them to get going.”
