Tyla exposes Rihanna's 'rude' behaviour during Met Gala meetup
South African singer Tyla and Rihanna had awkward exchange during recent event
Tyla, who is notable for being a rising superstar, has always gushed about Rihanna for being her role model at many instances.
The 24-year-old singer decided to exchange few words with the Grammy winning-musician at the Met Gala 2026 red carpet.
However, the Water crooner later revealed that things did not go as expected. She turned to TikTok to describe the awkward situation which was deemed “rude” behaviour by Rihanna.
Tyla admitted that she “went up to her and was like, ‘Oh, hey, you know…” before being interrupted by the Diamond hitmaker.
Rihanna stated that her “baby daddy is calling me,” and left the Jump singer.
The musician tried explaining that the mother-of-three “was cool,” speculating: “I think she was occupied” when she approached her.
However, the online community did not accept the explanation as one of the X users advised her to “never meet your heroes.” Another netizen speculated: “Girl that b*tch don’t like you.”

Previously, Tyla credited the Fenty Beauty owner for having a huge impact on her life, relating with her on the fact that she “came from somewhere outside of America.”
She aspired to be her and looked forward to meeting her someday. The idea of greeting her made her “nervous.”
