Meryl Streep has voiced her opinion on her famous character Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada 2.
While conversing with Fleur East on the Hits Radio Breakfast Show, the star noted her role to be complex and “realistic.”
The 76-year-old veteran actress shared, “I don’t know. I feel like you get a realistic view.”
Moreover, she criticized, ‘I think when we tend to Marvel-ize the movies now — we got the villains and we got the good guys — and it’s so boring.”
“What’s really interesting about life is that some of the heroes are flawed,” she explained.
On the other hand, she punched that some of the villains are “human and interesting and have their own strengths."
Notably, the most versatile star of her era punched that is what she likes about the film, “It’s messier.”
For the unversed, the second installment which released on May 1 reprised the original cast of 2006 comedy.
Meryl, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci, reunited for the edition after two decades.
The plot carries on with Anna Hathaway’s role, Andy Sachs and her relationship with Miranda as she struggles professionally.
The artist debuted in 1977 film Julia, playing a small role as Anne Marie. This followed her breakthrough in The Deer Hunter next year that earned her first Oscar nomination.
