Taylor Swift recently received response from Dashboard Confessional, an American rock band, following her interview with The New York Times.
Last week, the Cruel Summer singer confessed she’s influenced by the lyricism in emo music while writing a song.
During her chitchat, Taylor mentioned Chris Carrabba, the lead singer and songwriter for Dashboard Confessional, who now shared his honest reaction.
Taking to X, Chris reposted a clip from the Ophalite crooner’s interview and wrote, “Swift has been so kind to me over the years.”
“To hear her express how my songs affected her was a lovely surprise,” he continued.
Chris added, “Everything is connected. I feel fortunate to be a link in the chain.”
In her latest interview with NY Times, Taylor pointed out hat she’s mostly impacted by emo music.
The singer sang praises for the emo music, saying, how “they take a common phrase and then they just twist the knife of it”.
Interestingly, Taylor cited some of the lyrics of Fall Out Boy's Sugar, We're Going Down and Dashboard Confessional's Hand's Down, stating, “I would read the lyrics to those songs...and I'd just finish reading a line and just go, 'Oh my God’”
