Post Malone has left fans disappointed but understanding after announcing he’s postponing the opening stretch of his upcoming tour to finish his long-awaited new album.

The 30-year-old singer was due to kick off his Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 later this month, but the run will now begin on 9 June in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The change means six shows have been scrapped entirely, including stops across Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Florida.

Taking to Instagram Stories, the Circles superstar opened up honestly about the decision, telling fans he’d promised new music but simply ran out of time.

“Hey there party people… hope everyone out there is having a kickass day,” he wrote, before admitting the schedule just wasn’t realistic.

He explained that after reviewing plans following Stagecoach, things “weren’t really lining up,” adding: “I promised y’all beautiful people new music, and I don’t have the time to finish it before tour starts.”

Post, whose real name is Austin Post, said the tour was being pushed back “about 3 weeks” so he could lock in the record properly, apologising to those affected by the cancelled dates.

“I was looking forward to going nuts with y’all,” he added.

Despite the delay, he insisted the wait will be worth it, teasing what he called a “double album” packed with fresh material.

He also reassured fans he hasn’t forgotten his older hits, referencing his breakout Stoney era and promising he still loves performing the classics.

The singer has been on a creative streak, previously revealing he’s recorded around 35 to 40 songs for his next project, rumoured to be titled The Eternal Buzz.

He’s been working closely with Nashville names including Ernest, Hardy and Thomas Rhett, describing the sessions as relaxed but highly productive.

For now, fans will just have to wait a little longer for both the music and the tour chaos Post Malone is known for.
