Taylor Swift has recently opened up about her creative process behind some of her biggest hits over the years.

The singer-songwriter was mentioned in The New York Times Magazine among the 30 Greatest Living American Songwriters where she discussed about different tracks.

Taylor, who has been writing songs since she was 12, explained how strong passion stirred some of her early hits.

The Cruel Summer crooner also said that she ignored her fears on how her songs would be critically received notably the Love Story song at 17.

“The first time I felt I don’t care if people hate this because I love it so much was when I wrote the song ‘Love Story’ when I was 17, sitting in my bedroom, mad at my parents because they wouldn’t let me go on a date with a guy who was too old,” explained the singer.

Speaking of her parents, Andrea and Scott Swiftt, Taylor added, “I shouldn’t have been on a date with him anyway.”

“And this is why you need to discipline your kids because they might write songs that go [to] No. 1,” she quipped.

Meanwhile, Taylor further said that her thoughts never dictated the music she released.

“Oftentimes when I love it to a certain degree, that tends to match up with people,” she remarked while writing the heartbreak song, All Too Well.

Taylor noted, “It could be that it doesn’t match up with the way people feel until six years later.”
