Taylor Swift lists surprising reasons behind 'Eras Tour' creation

Taylor Swift is giving insight into the The Eras Tour, by disclosing the two life changing events that inspired the billion-dollar affair.

The 14-time Grammy winner’s worldwide, extensive tour has now become a cultural phenomenon and the songwriter has disclosed that it did not have happy origins.

In her docuseries, The End of an Era, the Mastermind singer stated that there were two main reasons.

"The first one being my entire catalogue of my first six albums was sold out from under me, to somebody else, and I decided to sort of defiantly re-record all of my music,” Taylor stated.

"I think the second factor being the pandemic. I clung to songwriting as a sort of life raft. folklore came out three or four months into the pandemic, we put out evermore four months later. I hadn't toured in five years and the fans had created such demand for it,”  she added.

The Lover singer then added that she was then inspired to revisit all the different chapters, or eras of her life and reminisce on them with fans.

Notably, Taylor called it a celebration of her past, and added that it felt like going through her old diaries and appreciating the different versions of herself.
