Noah Kahan has stormed back into the spotlight with the release of his hotly anticipated fourth album The Great Divide, and it’s already causing a stir among fans and critics alike.

The 17-track record, dropped today, marks a bold new chapter for the folk sensation, who shot to global fame with Stick Season

But rather than stick to the same winning formula, Kahan has shaken things up and it’s paying off.

The 29-year-old singer first sparked excitement back in January with cryptic TikTok teasers from a mysterious account, before dropping the title track and later Porch Light, both hinting at a richer, more layered sound.

Recorded across a mix of stunning locations, from Nashville studios to a peaceful Vermont pond, the album blends raw emotion with bigger, more ambitious production.

Heavy-hitting collaborators, including Aaron Dessner and Justin Vernon, help bring that vision to life.

Fans expecting another melancholy folk record may be in for a surprise.

The Great Divide leans into rock influences, with unexpected instruments like trombone and hurdy-gurdy adding depth and drama.

Lyrically, Kahan moves beyond isolation and heartbreak, exploring connection and growth, though not without a bittersweet edge.

With a major tour kicking off in June and huge venues already lined up, the buzz is only getting louder.
