Zayn Malik cancels appearances as he seeks cardiologist care

Zayn Malik is focused on prioritising his well-being following his scary hospital stay due to undisclosed illness.

On the day of his new album, Konnakol, the former One Direction singer was rushed to hospital.

The singer shared a photo from the ward bed and told fans he was "unexpectedly recovering" after a "long week."

Sharing update about his health a source now told the People magazine that Malik is stepping back from promoting his album, including his scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and fan meet-and-greets.

The Pillowtalk singer is seeking further medical treatment from the "No. 1 cardiologist in the world."

"He's still working through his health issues. He was supposed to appear on Fallon but isn't able to due to doctor's recommendations," adds the source.

The father of one is set to embark on his first solo headline arena tour later this year, bringing shows to North America starting in June and running through November.

Previously in an interview, he discussed what his new album, Konnakol, means to him.

He explained, “I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music, this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever, who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go.”

Konnakol is now streaming on music platforms.
